Prince of Nothing Trilogy, R. Scott Bakker, Rocks

Love the trilogy of “Prince of Nothing” from R. Scott Bakker. It’s dark, sick and a bit twisted. Lunatics f#cking severed heads, thousands of dead, skin spys, threesomes and war. Lots of it. :D

I read the three books… 2000+ sites overall since I got sick. My sweet girl even went out and cross half of the city (that’s 65km back and forth…) to get me the last book of the trilogy yesterday because I ran out of stuff to read. What a girl! Thank you, thank you, thank you honey, as always you rock.

I think I never read so much in such a short time ever. It’s good, keeps me distracted while I’m awake and while I’m half awake with fever. As with other things I did / do excessive I so dive into it (usually after two days) that it becomes half my reality so I did dream of this twisted fantasy world too. Sweet Sejenus! I was flying with my girl singing the secret cants of the Gnosis (yo… these are superpowerful spells mmkay!!!) and sending a wry smile towards the armies of Famin while shattering hundreds of lifes.

Well…. for someone who often has superweird dreams it was a nice different movie I found myself in. I have no problem with nightmares… I actually enjoy some violence, death and all that in my dreams. It happens all the time and its like action / horror movies or games I play and who doesn’t enjoy a killing spree or other wicked things that were impossible in real life.

But what I do not like are weird dreams. Like dreams that have so confusing turns that make no sense, or dreams in which you dream you wake up but you are still dreaming… I guess what annoys me about them are unanswered questions. I do want to see some sort of sense or motive… somehow…

Especially fever dreams can get pretty annoying so this fantasy scenario did do me some good in the recent days.

I’m already working on my cosplay outfit :P Me the super sorcerer. Haha… yeah right. Not!

As a professional escapist I take what I can get and these books do work to escape reality for some time. Recommended!

It’s a beautiful day

I feel some muscles that I didn’t know exist, the sun is shining and I’m productive. Later I will break in my new running kicks and track what I do and how far I run with Sporty Pal.

Yesterday I spoke with my lovely one about positive thinking and talking a bit less negative (strawberry I swear a lot). I decided to replace the word “f#ck” with “love” and “sh!t” with “strawberry”. So in the future I “Strawberry! Love you, motherlover”. That’s rather weird stuff but makes me smile so it works. Hah!

I also picked up two great books yesterday. One small guide about positive thinking in a nutshell and Focused and Fearless: A Meditator’s Guide to States of Deep Joy, Calm, and Clarity.

The title sounds a bit esoteric and all that but what I have read of it so far is pretty well written, good advice with a touch of Buddhist philosophy. So yeah, life is good and I keep on working on a better version of myself. Guess that’s why life is good.
